Crazy Cup

In a world where the cliched form follows function and maxim has been defining design, this brief of a 'crazy cup' came as a good surprise.
Though it seems simple and playful, it has posed a tremendous challenge to the artist within me. It prompted me to explore the true meaning of 'form' and 'function', but this time separately, giving each the independence that they truly deserve.

Form, without function is so liberating. Bereft of the responsibility of delivering a function, form almost seems afloat on its own. In these pieces the function is an afterthought. As someone who lives in a society which judges you on what you bring to the table , I have found the experience of designing these pieces cathartic. Form it is, function be damned.
Thats how crazy this cup of life is..
